In Loving Memory of Ivan Vuković
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the founder of NAMCO, and more importantly the loss
of our colleague, our friend, and our father, Ivan Vuković.
Ivan was born in July of 1946 in the mountain region of Kordun in Croatia in a village called Lađevačko Selište.
He was the only child of Mile and Ljuba Vuković. He met the love of his life Kate (nee. Paulić) in 1967 and
married her later that year. Ivan left Croatia with his loving wife Kate in 1969 in search for a better future. He
worked in Germany for almost six years, where his first child Christina was born. Ivan and his family came to
Edmonton in 1974 where he worked for a few years at local machine shops. In 1976 he founded NAMCO, and
his son Bernard was born that year.
He worked tirelessly his whole life trying to make a better future for his family. He was well known in the
industry as an extremely hard working, honest and fair man both in business and in life. His success is
measured in the great number of people who respected and loved him and the number of people whom he
positively influenced and helped throughout his life.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 48 years, Kate, daughter Christina (Andreas) Zadravec, son Bernard
(Ankica) Vuković, his loving grandchildren, his mother Ljuba in Croatia, and all of his family in Canada, the
USA, Australia, and Croatia, as well as all of his friends and colleagues.
We will miss you always.
